BMW Motorrad India teases TVS Apache RR 310-based fully-faired sports bike | – Times of India

Back in 2013, BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor Company signed a long-term strategic partnership to manufacture sub-500 cc motorcycles, and the collaboration has so far resulted in three products on the shared 310 cc platform – BMW G 310 R, BMW 310 GS, as well as the TVS Apache RR 310. Now, it looks like BMW is all set to make use of this platform to introduce another motorcycle: a fully-faired sports bike based on the TVS Apache RR 310.
BMW Motorrad India has released a teaser video on its social media handles, revealing the tail section of the upcoming motorcycle. The sports bike’s tail looks very similar to the TVS Apache RR 310’s rear end. The LED tail light of the TVS sports bike seems to have been carried over as it is, while the turn indicators look the same too. This hints at the fact that the BMW motorcycle could even be a rebadged Apache RR 310.

Keeping it in line with the G 310 R and G 310 GS, BMW could name the new motorcycle G 310 RR. The motorcycle could make use of the same 312 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine as the donor bike. It puts out 34 PS of max power at 9700 rpm, and 27.3 Nm of peak torque at 7700 rpm. The transmission duties are taken care of by a 6-speed gearbox.
Pricing and everything else is yet to be confirmed, but we expect the BMW motorcycle to be pricier than the TVS Apache RR 310 given the badge value. For reference, TVS currently retails the RR 310 at a starting price of Rs 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
