Check petrol and diesel price in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru on September 13 – Times of India

Petrol and diesel prices have remained unchanged on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 for over three months now. On May 21, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced an excise duty cut on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and on diesel by Rs 6 per litre, respectively. After that, the Maharashtra government announced a Value-Added Tax (VAT) cut on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 a litre and Rs 3 a litre on July 15.
Last month, the Meghalaya government had increased the VAT on petrol and diesel prices. Now petrol price per litre in Shillong is Rs 96.83 per litre, while diesel price in Shillong stands at Rs 84.72 per litre.
Petrol price in Delhi is Rs 96.72 per litre, while the diesel price in Delhi stands at Rs 89.62 per litre. In Mumbai, one litre of petrol costs Rs 106.31 per litre and one litre of petrol is priced at Rs 94.27 per litre.

Public sector Oil Marketing Companies, such as Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) set the fuel prices daily in accordance with foreign exchange rates and international benchmark prices. Retail petrol and diesel prices vary from state to state due to local taxes, such as VAT or freight charges.
