Mahindra and Mahindra have confirmed their plans to launch the fully electric Mahindra XUV 300 in the first quarter of 2023.
Mahindra also confirmed that it will reveal its three electric concepts, known as the ‘Born EV’ range on 15th August 2022. Slated to launch in 2025, more details about the electric models will be out from July onwards.
The upcoming XUV300 electric SUV was previously showcased at the Auto Expo 2020, apart from that Mahindra had also displayed the electric KUV at the same event.
One interesting fact here is that the electric version of the XUV 300 won’t be a sub-four meter vehicle because it measures 4.2 meters in length. According to our sources, Mahindra could bring in the body structure of the longer SsangYong Tivoli on which the XUV300 is based on. This, directly indicates that this car won’t be eligible for a range of incentives or pocket-friendly pricing which are usually reserved only for sub-four meter electric vehicles in India.

The electric version of the XUV 300 has been spied testing on Indian roads many times. Based on the e-XUV 300 which was showcased at the auto expo, the production model is expected to follow the design philosophy of the concept closely. Also, it would come resembling the ICE powered SsangYong Tivoli, it will get a new aero grille, redesigned bumpers, new LED headlamps and LED taillights and aerodynamically designed alloy wheels for more range.
Taking about the battery pack, the electric version of the XUV 300 is expected to get a 40 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The electric XUV 300 is expected to offer a range of around 350 km on a single charge. Mahindra XUV 300 being 4.2 meters in length will no longer come under sun compact SUV, it is expected to be priced from Rs 18-22 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, it will directly compete with the MG ZS EV.
