Petrol and diesel price in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai on September 1 – Times of India

Petrol and diesel prices have been left untouched by Oil Marketing Companies again on September 1 after over three months now. On May 21, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an excise duty cut on petrol and diesel by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre respectively. Since then, fuel prices have not been changed by OMCs (Oil Marketing Companies).
However, Maharashtra Government and Meghalaya Government have altered the fuel prices in the last 2 months. The Maharashtra Government has announced a Value-Added Tax (VAT) cut on petrol by Rs 5 per litre and on diesel by Rs 3 per litre on July 15. Meghalaya has increased the petrol and diesel prices on August 24. Petrol price in Shillong stands at Rs 96.83 per litre, while diesel costs Rs 84.72 per litre.
As per the latest notification issued by the Oil Marketing Companies, such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), petrol price in Delhi is Rs 96.72 per litre and diesel price stands at Rs 89.62 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol price today is Rs 106.35 per litre and diesel price is Rs 94.28 per litre.
