Here are the petrol and diesel prices today across the country-

GurugramRs 97.18Rs 90.05
ChandigarhRs 96.20Rs 84.26

Retail petrol and diesel prices differ from state to state on account of local taxes like VAT or freight charges. As fuel prices continue to rise the running cost for people is going up sharply. This, in turn is helping push electric vehicles (EVs) as their running cost is a fraction of the cost incurred for a petrol or diesel vehicle.
The Indian automotive industry is already making a shift towards eMobility. Witnessing the same, the Government of India is making efforts to encourage e-transport by gradually phasing out traditional vehicles in some cities and replacing them with EVs. That said, the Delhi government has already opted for this approach and made a decision to make all government vehicles switch to electric propulsion. However, there is no specific EV policy in India as of now but as fuel prices continue to be on the higher side we can expect electric vehicles to benefit from this trend.
