Petrol Diesel Prices in India: Petrol, diesel price on July 27; Check fuel prices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and other cities | – Times of India

On July 27, petrol and diesel prices remained steady again for over two months now. Oil Marketing Companies continue to sell both fuels at the same prices. Recently, the Maharashtra Government announced a VAT cut on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 per litre and Rs 3 per litre respectively – a move that will cost the state exchequer Rs 6,000 crore annually. Apart from Maharashtra, fuel prices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad were left untouched since Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an excise duty cut of Rs 8 per litre on petrol and Rs 6 per litre on diesel.

Fuel prices are revised by public sector OMC such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) on a regular basis according to international benchmark prices and foreign exchange rates. Retail petrol and diesel prices differ from state to state because of local taxes like VAT or freight charges.
Crude oil price
On Wednesday, crude oil prices increased after US data showed a sharp drop in crude inventories. According to Reuters, Brent crude futures were at $104.73 a barrel, up by 33 cents, while WTI Crude was at $95.65 a barrel, up 67 cents.
