Suzuki Katana Price: Suzuki Katana launched in India at Rs 13.61 lakh; Engine specs, features, colours | – Times of India

After teasing it multiple times last week, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited has now finally launched the Katana in the Indian market at a base price of Rs 13.61 lakh (ex-showroom). The litre-class motorcycle was upgraded for the global markets earlier this year to comply with Euro V emission standards.
Powering the Katana is a 999 cc liquid-cooled DOHC inline four-cylinder engine that belts out 152 PS of maximum power, along with 106 Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties are taken care of by a 6-speed gearbox. The bike gets a bi-directional quickshifter with throttle-by-wire, a slipper clutch, as well as a five-level traction control system.

The suspension setup consists of fully-adjustable inverted telescopic forks at the front, coupled with a link-type coil spring at the back. The Katana gets dual disc brakes up front, paired with a single unit at the rear with Brembo calipers. Suzuki is offering the motorcycle in India in two colour options – Metallic Mystic Silver and Metallic Stellar Blue.
The equipment on offer with the bike includes an LCD display, LED headlight, tail light, and turn signals, Suzuki Intelligent Rider System (S.I.R.S) with Suzuki Traction Control System, Suzuki Drive Mode Selector, Low RPM Assist, and Suzuki Easy Start System, a black-and-grey dual-tone seat, dual-channel ABS and so on. It gets three different throttle maps – Active, Basic, and Comfort. The new semi-faired litre-class motorcycle puts up against the likes of the BMW F 900 XR and the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX in the Indian market.
