PRAYAGRAJ: Following the detection of two dengue cases in Sangam City, officials of the health department have taken as many as 60 hotspots under its scanner in the city.
Apart from anti-larva spraying, a special cleaning campaign has also been launched in localities like Chota Baghara, Salori, Shivkuti, Uchawagari, Rajapur, Medical college boys hostel campus, Sulem Sarai, Rambagh bus station, Lukerganj, Beniganj,Kalindipuram, New Baihrana, Kydganj, Poora Dalel, Pura Pariyan, Alopibagh slum, Naini PAC colony, Azad Nagar, Jhunsi, Daraganj Prayag ghat, Railway colony,Civil Lines and adjoining areas. District Malaria Officer (DMO) Dr. Anand Kumar Singh, “Following the detection of two dengue cases including one each from North Malaka (city) and Phulpur (trans-Ganga) indistrict, corrective measures have been initiated and a total of 60 hotspots have been taken under the scanner of health department”.
He further added department has already launched anti-larva activity campaign and is also educating and awaking people about the measures that are helpful to check the dengue cases. He, however,said the facility of Elisa test is available at microbiology department of MLN Medical college.
Only Elisa test is accurate to detect dengue cases. Moreover, as many as 75 beds including 25 each in all three prominent hospials of the city – Colvin Hospital,Beli hospital and SRN hospital – have been reserved for dengue patients. Besides, fever help desk has also been set up in district’s community health centres and urban PHCs.
