Apna Dal (s) Sets Target To Make 1 Crore Members | Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj: With an eye on 2024 Lok Sabha polls, Apna Dal (S) president and Union minister Anupriya Patel on Friday launched party’s membership drive from Pratapgarh district. During two-month long drive, party aims to make one crore members across state.
Addressing party leaders and workers, Anupriya said: “The land of Pratapgarh is the mother of the party (Pratapgarh ki dharti ko Apna Dal (S) Ki janani kaha jaye toh Koi galat nahin hoga) as first Apna Dal (S) MLA was elected from this district.”
The Union MoS for commerce and industry further said: “My father Sone Lal Patel had always fought for the rights of the poor, farmers, backwards and down-trodden people of the region throughout his life and this was the reason the party has launched its membership drive from the revolutionary land of Pratapgarh.” Patel, who herself took party’s membership from former MP Nagendra Pratap Singh Patel, in-charge of mandal membership campaign, said the drive will be conducted in 18 mandals (divisions) of the state and names of the in-charges of membership drive of all mandals have already been announced. She also laid focus on booth management in view of the 2024 parliamentary polls and called upon party workers to work hard. Patel said she would be visiting many parts of the state during the drive and added that the party would soon appoint zonal presidents, assembly presidents, district presidents and other office bearers by the end of October.
An ally of ruling BJP, Apna Dal (S) reiterated its demand for a separate union ministry for the welfare of the OBC and a caste-based census across the country to ascertain the exact population of the community.
Meanwhile, state cabinet minister and working national president Ashish Patel said: “Workers are the back bone of the party and our houses would be open for them round-the-clock.” On the occasion, over two dozen leaders from different political parties across the state took the party’s primary membership.
