Awareness Increases Among People Under Family Planning Programme: Report | Kanpur News – Times of India

Kanpur: A workshop on the topic “The challenge initiative health cities India ” was organized with the cooperation of Population Service India (PSI) which focused on the four year achievement in the field of family planning.
According to the recently released National Family Planning Health Survey (NFHS-5) for the year 2020-21 there has been an increase in awareness about permanent and temporary means under the family planning programme in the people.
The achievement of Kanpur district in any kind of modern (temporary methods) under the family planning programme is 59.4 percent whereas it was 39.5 percent in NFHS-4 (2015-16) by using modern methods.
At the same time, according to NFHS-5, the achievement of the district in any method of family planning (permanent and temporary) is 78.7 percent while in NFHS-4 it was 59.8 percent.
RN Singh, nodal officer and additional chief medical officer, National Urban Health Mission said that in these four years, PSI had done better work in the field of family planning with the coordination of the health department and cooperation of ASHA workers which was clearly visible in the Government of India’s NFHS-5 report.
