Class 8 Girl Returning From Temple Molested In Elevator | Surat News – Times of India


Surat: A 12-year-old class VIII student alleged of being molested inside a lift in Pavilion Plaza on Thursday morning while she was returning home after offering prayers at the Kali Mata temple on the third floor.
After she informed her parents about the incident, they went to the complex and also filed a complaint with Dindoli police station. According to the police, the girl lives in Dindoli area and her father runs a YouTube news channel along with land brokerage business. She had gone to the temple at around 10.30am and was returning home a little later when a person named Bhautik allegedly confined her forcefully inside the lift and molested her.
Dindoli police registered an offence of molestation (IPC 354) and different section of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) act and started investigation in the case.
In another incident, a 54-year-old woman who runs a pharmacy store filed a complaint with Lalgate police station alleging that an auto rickshaw driver was stalking and harassing her and even threatening her to talk with him for the past four months. After the driver recently threatened her with acid attack, she approached the police with a complaint.
Police said that the complainant who lives in the Lalgate area, runs a medical store with her husband. For the past four months, an unidentified auto rickshaw driver frequently passed by her medical store and made lewd gestures at her.
Even when she would go out for any work, the driver would follow and abuse her, while forcing her to talk to him, she alleged.
On May 29 at around 9am when she was walking near her house, the auto driver stopped her and threatened her with an acid attack if she did not talk to him. After discussing with her family, the woman decided to approach the Lalgate police and filed a complaint on Thursday. Police registered an offence of molestation and started investigation.
