CM Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurates projects worth Rs 2,000 crore in Haryana | Gurgaon News – Times of India

KARNAL: Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of a total of 174 developmental projects worth Rs 2,000 crore across the state through the virtual mode from Karnal.
These included the inauguration of 86 projects costing Rs 666 crore and the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 1,378 crore.
The chief minister said, “The government is working with its slogan “Sabka Saath and Sabka Vikas” and equitable development is being ensured in the entire state.”
The CM announced to set up of a Quality Control Authority to ensure transparency and fix accountability in government developmental projects.
He said,” This authority will monitor and review the projects and will ensure to take required action against the officials concerned if any lapse is found on their part.”
The government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against corruption and no one involved in corrupt practices is being spared, Khattar claimed.
He said that the government has created the Engineering Works Portal, which has brought transparency in the allocation of government projects and now the tender for construction is floated online.
The Chief Minister said, ” The government is going to develop a system in which the public can share information about the quality, corruption, mixing or sub-standard material used in the projects on a single portal. After receiving the information, a preliminary probe will be done and strict action will be ensure against those found guilty.”
“Infrastructure plays an important role in the development of the country. Hence, the state government is continuously increasing the budget allocated for infrastructure. In this budget, 34.4 percent of the budget has been kept for infrastructure,” the CM said.
The CM claimed,” The Haryana government is providing 24 hours of electricity to 5700 villages in the state. Soon, we will ensure to provide round-the-clock power to 100 percent of villages.”
On this occasion, the chief minister also listened to the grievances of people at the PWD rest house.
The major projects of which inaugurated included a new bus stand constructed at a cost of Rs 20 crore in Fatehabad, 220 KVA substation worth 58 crore in Faridabad, 6-laning/4-laining of Karnal-Meerut road worth 130 crore, Primary Health Centers at Sinsar, Karmagarh, Karsindhu and Ramrai in Jind, constructed at the cost of Rs 115 crore.
He also inaugurated the SDO Civil Complex, constructed at the cost of Rs 17 crore by the Revenue Department at Kalayat.
The major projects of which the foundation stone was laid included mini secretariat building at Charkhi Dadri, a 200-bedded Civil Hospital to be built at a cost of Rs 234 crore in Sector 9 of Fatehabad, redevelopment of sports facilities in Karan stadium in Karnal, 220 KV AIS substation in Palwal, and Upgradation to 2 lane road connecting to Faridabad-Greater Noida worth Rs 99 crore.
