Four Arrested For Pelting Stones On Train, 23 Escape | Kanpur News – Times of India

Kanpur: Four youths were arrested on charges of pelting stones on Kanpur-Farrukhabad Express in Farrukhabad to protest against Agnipath scheme on Sunday. According to police, a case has been lodged against 23 unidentified others, who along with the four arrested, were protesting against Agnipath scheme in Farrukhabad district.
Circle Officer City Pradeep Kumar said, “The incident occurred while the train was passing through Shyamnagar crossing. Searches are underway to nab the other youths involved in the incident.” Sub-inspector Mohd Sartaj has lodged an FIR in this regard at Kotwali police station. The FIR stated that police got information about a group of youths who had assembled near the railway tracks with sticks, rods, bricks and stones. The accused pelted stones on Farrukhabad-Kanpur Express No. 4134. The attack damaged the window panes of the train heading towards Kanpur from Farrukhabad. Soon, a police team rushed to the spot and tried to disperse the protesters, but they refused to budge, and pelted stones at police personnel who then chased them and managed to nab Sahil, Titu, Monu and Abhinav, while 23 others managed to flee.
