Four Held With Mephedrone Worth 9l | Ahmedabad News – Times of India

AHMEDABAD: In two separate cases, city police arrested four men in possession of commercial quantities of mephedrone. On Monday, two men were held in Satellite with Rs 5.71 lakh of the drug, and two were held on Tuesday in Fatehwadi with a stash worth Rs 3.19 lakh.
In the first case, special operations group (SOG) of city police received intelligence that a resident of Gokul Awas Yojana in Satellite was selling mephedrone with an accomplice. An SOG team raided the house at the Gokul Awas Yojana and caught the owner Parbat Zala, 31, and his accomplice Usama Baxi, 24, a resident of Anwar Park in Juhapura.
The FIR filed with Detection of Crime Branch by SOG sub-inspector M B Chavda said 57.10g of mephedrone, worth Rs 5.71 lakh was recovered from the two, who have been charged under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Cops said they had got the drug to sell from one Shaqib Channa, a resident of Shahpur.
In the case registered under the NDPS Act on Tuesday, Vejalpur police got a tip-off that a resident of Zainab Duplex in Fatehwadi, Ishtiyaq Shaikh, 38, and his aide Abdul Rauf Syed, 33, a resident of Sankalitnagar, were selling mephedrone from Shaikh’s house.
According to the complaint filed by Vejalpur PSI M H Jhala, police raided the house and found 31.93g of mephedrone, worth Rs 3.19 lakh, from the two accused. They told police they got the drug from Jamshed Khan, of Banswara, Rajasthan.
