Jharkhand: Six held for ‘murdering’ Godda youth who resisted eve-teasing | Ranchi News – Times of India

DUMKA: Six miscreants have been arrested over the past two days for allegedly murdering a youth of Punsia village at the weekly market ground in Godda on Thursday for resisting an eve-teasing attempt of his minor niece.
The victim, Sunil Kumar Mandal (25), was allegedly beaten to death with wooden sticks by nearly two dozen miscreants of ‘Devils group’.
“The assailants are either minors or have just stepped into adulthood. Raids are on to nab those on the run,” Godda SP Nathu Singh Meena said on Saturday. Among those arrested is one Chandan Kumar (19) of Pathra village, who used to allegedly tease the deceased’s niece, he added.
Sunil’s uncle Anil Kumar Mandal, who was accompanying him, was also assaulted. He was lying unconscious at an abandoned place, around five km from the incident site, and regained his consciousness on Friday. He has been admitted to Sadar Hospital and is out of danger now.
