BENGALURU: Panic prevailed among students and teaching staff of a private school in Rajarajeshwarinagar, South Bengaluru, after a bomb threat on Monday morning.
Deputy commissioner of police (West) Laxman B Nimbargi said that bomb threat was sent to National Hill View Public School located in Ideal Township of Rajarajeshwarinagar through email. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president DK Shivakumar is the chairman of the school.
Police said that the school management noticed the email around 8.30am on Monday when they started functioning. They informed the police, who rushed to the spot along with bomb detection and disposal squad and sniffer dog squad.
Nimbargi said that after a thorough check, the police found it was a hoax. There were around 1,500 children in the school. They were shifted to a neighbouring schools. All children are safe. The school has declared a holiday for the day over the incident. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
