“Padma Shri Kamala Pujari is not only the pride of the state but also of the entire country. She is an inspiration for our communities. The way she was forced to dance inside the ICU is unfortunate and we strongly condemn it. We demand the state government to inquire into the whole incident on how a video was made inside the ICU and it was circulated on social media and to take appropriate action against the people involved at the earliest. Otherwise, all tribal communities will hit the streets,” said Narendra Kandolia, a Bhumia leader.

A video had gone viral on Tuesday showing a woman social activist dancing with Kamala to music played in the background in the ICU at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. On Wednesday, Paraja Samaja chairman Harish Muduli had demanded action against the social worker.
Following the public outcry, SCB authorities constituted a committee headed by the head of medicine department Jayant Panda to probe into the incident.
