Roads Need Urgent Attention, Says Vmc Opposition Leader | Vadodara News – Times of India

VADODARA: The opposition Congress in the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has demanded that the road from Vadodara railway station to Shastri bridge should be repaired at the earliest. Extensive work was taken up on the road for the bullet train project.
Leader of opposition in VMC’s elected wing, Ami Ravat said, that the road was handed over for the bullet train project, but the VMC had the right to access and use of the road. She said that the road connects several areas to the railway station as well as the state transport bus depot and the city bus stand.
Ravat said that the road was opened for the public recently, but is in a very bad shape.
She alleged that the manholes on the road were not at level with the road and was riddled with potholes too. She added that the surface of the road was also uneven. She said that the National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd should be asked to fix the road.
Ravat also pointed out that the condition of the road from Shastri bridge to Chhani Jakatnaka was also bad after it was damaged from the repair work done on several service lines and other projects.
The Congress leader wrote a letter to the VMC commissioner raising the issues.
The letter also points out that the ongoing work on the flyover from Genda Circle to Manisha Crossroads had also created traffic chaos as the service road was in a sorry state.
The letter states that barricades had been erected to store material for the flyover using the width of the road.
