Woman Who Resisted Robbery Murdered | Noida News – Times of India

NOIDA: Police have arrested a man for allegedly beating a 36-year-old woman to death in her house in Chhijarsi village on September 1. The man had entered the house with the intent of looting it, police said, adding that he killed the woman when she protested.
The victim, Neelam Shukla, was found dead at her house last Thursday. “Her neighbour called the police, and a team discovered her lying in a pool of blood. The woman was alone at the time as her husband was away for work, and their three children were at school,” Saad Miya Khan, additional deputy commissioner of police (central Noida), said. Based on the complaint for murder filed by her husband,
Awadhesh Shukla, police registered a case at the Sector 63 police station and started an investigation. “We found that the jewellery kept at the house was also missing,” Khan said.
Police managed to identify the accused using witness accounts and tracking call records. “The accused, Anand Kumar, hailing from Kasganj in UP, initially visited the Shukla house on the pretext of renting a room,” Khan said. Now, he is in judicial custody.
