“When every year the dates were announced 5 months prior the exam why this year the students were notified only 100 days before the exam?? We want response now!!”, Hirok Subhra Ghosh, a twitter user said.

Meanwhile, Indian Youth Congress has extended support to the students and blamed the BJP for the students’ suffering. “Due to the mismanagement and the disregard of the grievances of the BJP government, Thousands of NEET UGs are suffering. @dpradhanbjp  Ji, all they seek is a postponement of 40 days, so they can prepare for the needful”, the Indian Youth Congress tweeted.

Earlier a section of students had also started an online petition, seeking deferment. ” We are having to go through immense mental stress and pressure because we hardly have any time to prepare for the exam that will determine our future,” reads the online petition.

“Counselling of NEET-UG 2021 has just ended in March and then NEET-UG 2022 is scheduled in July. How are we to revise such a vast syllabus in just 3 months? Moreover, other important exams like the Board Exams, CUCET, and JEE Mains are also scheduled around the same time. Imagine the trauma and pressure we students are having to go through with all these significant exams scheduled one after the other! Is this a fair decision?,” CNN-News 18 quoted the petitioner as saying.

Since the CBSE class 12 exams will conclude on June 15, students have stated that they have very less time to prepare for NEET 2022, scheduled to be held on July 17. Other entrance exams like JEE Main has been postponed after protests by students.
