‘Shamshera’ box office collection Day 7: Ranbir Kapoor starrer wraps up first week with a poor score, collects only Rs 40 crore – Times of India

Ranbir Kapoor is having a hard time at the box office with his latest release ‘Shamshera‘.

The film that is well into its first week, has been sluggishly making its way to the Rs 50 crore mark. On Thursday, the movie earned a minimal Rs 1.50 crore at the domestic box office, thus taking its overall total to an estimated Rs 40 crore nett.

The movie may have been the talk of the town before its release, but going by the numbers, it has raked in a poor collection. ‘Shamshera’ not only underperformed during its first weekend but also continued its downward trend through the week, earning around Rs 2 crore on the working weekdays.

Reports on boxofficeindia.com state that the expectations of the film to perform well at the box office were much higher, but sadly, the movie was seemingly rejected in all business sectors. The business didn’t show any signs of growth in major circuits since its release last Friday.

The film will have a smaller margin of making up its collections this week at it will be sharing the box office business with a number of new releases, including ‘Ek Villain Returns’ starring John Ambram and Arjun Kapoor.
