iPhone 14 models to feature faster & power efficient 6GB RAM, leaks reveal upgraded devices

Only a few days to Apple’s WWDC, and more reports are surfacing around the upcoming iPhone 14 line-up. According to the latest reports, the Cupertino-based tech giant is planning to include 6GB RAM on all models in the iPhone 14 line-up. The development has been reported by Taiwanese research firm TrendForce.

The next-generation iPhone 14 Pro models will likely come with upgraded, faster and power-efficient RAM known as LPDDR5, while the regular iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max models will feature LPDDR4X.

As of now, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini come with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM, while the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are equipped with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM.

The latest development is in line with the prediction of noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who had claimed that all iPhone 14 models will come with 6GB of RAM and that the iPhone 14 Pro models will feature LPDDR5.

According to the research firm, iPhone 14 Pro models are likely to start with 256GB of storage. The current generation of iPhones starts with 128GB of storage. However, the report stated that the details on storage are ‘TBD’.

Among the other leaks, earlier it was revealed that the iPhone 14 Pro models are likely to come with a 48MP rear camera and the latest A16 chip. Meanwhile, the regular iPhone 14 models are likely to retain the existing A15 chip.

Another significant change would be Apple doing away with the mini models. Apple will likely introduce iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro with 6.1-inch displays, and iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max with 6.7-inch displays.

The iPhone 14 line-up is expected to be launched around September 2022.
