iPhone 14 Pro Dynamic Island to feature games? Developers experimenting with Apple’s new notch

On September 7, the Cupertino-based tech giant Apple stunned the world with its latest innovation. The notch on the iPhone transformed into something revolutionary. Considering the past few years, it was expected that the notch would in all likelihood get smaller.

However, Apple mesmerised the tech world with its novel ‘Dynamic Island’. It is a pill-shaped notch on the iPhone 14 Pro models that resizes and offers a diverse range of information to the user. The new notch comprises the front-facing TrueDepth camera hardware. It gives information such as music playing, audio recording, calls, and more. Now, it seems that the tech giant is all set to offer more.

According to the latest reports, numerous third-party developers are working on several new facets that would make use of Dynamic Island more engaging. A report on the noted tech portal, Macrumors, seems to suggest that third-party developers are working on Dynamic Island experiences that could also include games.
The report said that the developer of WaterMinder and HabitMinder – Kriss Smolka, had shared a Dynamic Island game concept resembling the Pong Game. Smolka also shared the game model on his Twitter account. The developer has named the game which is currently being tested has been named ‘Hit The Island’.

The game uses a paddle at the bottom to hurl the ball up towards Dynamic Island. The goal of the game is to hit the Dynamic Island causing it to animate.

Apple has promoted Dynamic Island as a new way to interact with the iPhone. “Introducing Dynamic Island, a truly Apple innovation that’s hardware and software — and something in between. It bubbles up music, FaceTime and so much more — all without taking you away from what you’re doing,” read the description on Apple’s official website.
