Samsung app confirms Galaxy Watch 5, Galaxy Watch 5 Pro smartwatches – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Rumours are rife that Samsung is working on its next-generation Galaxy smartwatches likely to be called Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. The company has now released a One UI 4.5 Beta for users to test out on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. The beta version of the Samsung Health app reveals a list of compatible devices. In this list, the company has accidentally confirmed the two yet-to-launch Galaxy smartwatches — Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.
On the basis of the new revelation, Samsung is said to launch two models of its upcoming smartwatch and there will be no Classic model this time with the popular rotating bezel.
As reported by 9to5Google, a similar thing happened before the launch of the Galaxy Watch 4. Last year also the Samsung Health app received a beta update which showed the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The placeholder images of both the smartwatches suggest that the wearable will sport a similar design to their predecessors.
Recently, it was also reported that with the Galaxy Watch 5 launch, the tech giant is also ditching its rotating bezel feature.
On the other hand, another online report revealed that Samsung may not include a thermometer in the Galaxy Watch 5. Popular analyst Ming-Chi-Kuo said that Samsung is facing challenges in including a thermometer in the Galaxy Watch 5. Kuo said, “The challenge in implementing precise body temperature measurement is that skin temperature quickly varies depending on outside environments. A smartwatch can’t support core temperature measurement in terms of hardware, so it needs an excellent algorithm to work together.”
